Lisa Reinhard is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and has a masters of education. She has taught grades 1-8 for twenty-five years. Many of these were in Atlanta where she was formerly known as Lisa Dearman and taught staff development in Children's Literature as well as conducted seminars on Motherhood and Self-Esteem. She raised three sons from the ages of 2, 4 and 6 as a single mother. Her book Psalms for the Single Mom (published under her maiden name Lisa Hussey) chronicles those difficult yet joyful years of providing for her sons.

She is now happily married to Jack and lives in Jacksonville, FL where she is a professor of reading at Florida State College at Jacksonville.Born in Pittsburgh, she grew up in Louisville and Kansas City. She has also lived in Dallas & Lubbock, Texas and Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina. She has been a lifelong avid reader, and began writing books for her family and friends as a teenager. She adores music, taking walks, collecting mice, cheesecake, her now adult sons Sean, Neil and Jeff, and her dogs, a Sheltie named Lucy and a Border Collie named Jake.
